Firefox Ubuntu - Review and Download
Since Firefox came out in 2002 it has been a great browsers because of it's portability, small size & being available on just about every computing platform.
So when it comes to to Firefox Ubuntu it is no exception, it runs the same as it does on Windows, infact if you are a common Windows users, you will sometimes forget that you are using a Linux distribution.
Firefox Ubuntu is pre-installed with all the latest distributions of Ubuntu, the current version 3.0.11 is fantastic, we haven't found any extensions and add-ons that haven't worked so far. we think this software on a Linux platform is going to really shake up the OS market some more, because since most of the work on computers is done on the web, therefore no need to fork out for another lame version of Windows.
The load time of Firefox Ubuntu is very quick on my late model Dell, an leaves of where I saved my session perfectly.
Some of the pros & cons of Firefox Ubuntu
Pros:
- Small installation package.
- Easy to use interface.
- Tabbed browsing (this browser was one of the first to have this back in 2002)
- Plugins for just about everything
- Regular updates.
Cons:
- The physical size of the program loaded in the RAM is not so small.
- Drop down RSS feeds don't always refresh.
I think anyone who is a user of Firefox Ubuntu would agree that this software is easy to use, and has updates and features added quicker than any other browser currently available.
